Sorry for an off-topic question to an off-topic reply to an off-topic 
question but...

I'm having several of the same problems, that is, suppressing spurious 
namespace declarations and getting namespace declarations where I want them.

Is there an xslt-dev  mailing list/newsgroup somewhere where I can direct 
these questions? Preferably one that Michael and/or Jeni subscribe to so I 
can get answers? ;)
