First, with respect to JAXB 2.0 goals and progress:

* JAXB 2.0 has an explicit goal of supporting all of XML schema.
This has been a very important goal for JAXB 2.0 right
from the very beginning of JAXB 2.0 specification effort.

* JAXB 2.0 ,as a specification, does not require the preservation of
infoset. However, neither does it prohibit an JAXB 2.0
 implementation from doing so.

* JAXB 2.0 has other high level goals beyond support for all of
XML schema. Considerable progress has been made on the realization of
 these goals (e.g. java->schema mapping). The JAXB 2.0 (JSR222)
Expert Group has been very active !

In an effort to get feedback from developer community sooner, we have
been moving towards a visible developement model for JAXB 2.0 on
java.net : https://jaxb.dev.java.net . At the top
of this page, you will find the following links:

- a link to a technology preview of JAXB 2.0 RI Early Access. This is a
demonstration of what the JAXB 2.0 RI generates for the WS-I sample
  application.
- a link to an Early Draft version of JAXB 2.0 javadocs
- a link to download area.

Going forward, we are planning to make intermediate drops of the
JAXB 2.0 technlogy more frequently. So watch https://jaxb.dev.java.net
for further information and announcements.

Finally, there is a java.net forum for JAXB 2.0 where JAXB 2.0 related
questions can be posted:

  http://forums.java.net/jive/forum.jspa?forumID=46

So let us know your feedback.
