This kind of thing makes validating the output from a transform a
struggle - on the one hand you have the benefit of knowing what part
of your stylesheet generates the broken output, but you're stuck with
XML Schema... and on the other you have the choice of any language,
but you might have to do some investigation to track down the source
of validation errors.

Its guess it's a case of "use what fits"...
