If you need access to a file and the network is configured to deny access to
that file, then you can't access the file unless (a) you move it somewhere
where it's accessible, or (b) you reconfigure the network to allow access.
 
Hardly an XML schema question, really.

Which actually needs the client-firewall to be off
 
What needs to be done in order to do the validation when the firewall is
on..
